In 2011 and 2012, I helped survey proposed hydro facilities at Sweetheart Lake and estuary, about 40 air-miles south of Juneau. We mostly traveled by boat but twice got a chance to fly. Journals from this work—6 visits total—are rather technical, but the flight obliques and annotations offer fun insights into glacial history and the contrast of lean and productive country.
