Created ponds and wetlands
Preconstruction map for mitigation features at Haines Airport.
Mitigation for impacts from Haines Airport reconstruction called for new fish rearing ponds and wetlands creation. ADOT & ADFG asked Environaid for a monitoring plan, to follow the progress of these built features over time, and rate their success or failure.
As time passes, resurvey and documentation of these ponds and wetlands will grow ever more valuable to others throughout Lingít Aaní engaged in the expanding field of environmental restoration. I handed over a collection of 35mm slides to ADF&G, from mapped locations, to be rephotographed as described in this document. It’d be fun to digitize them and return for another repeat photography session.
