Three days after an avalanche came down Behrends Slide, near Juneau, Alaska, I went up for some raven’s-eye perspectives. The actual event was filmed from Douglas, showing a huge amount of airborne powder. I was surprised to see how small the footprint of the ‘bedload’ was.
