Invasive species in Southeast Alaska
Most of us are newcomers, and unfortunately we travel with an alien entourage. Southeast ecologists are increasingly concerned about problems posed by non-native species, especially in early seral or disturbed habitats. This article is now [2020] 2 decades old, but has only become more relevant.
This issue also has an article by longtime Discovery supporter John Neary about the first teachers’ expedition to Xutsnoowú, fortress of the bears.
