About a decade after Discovery’s founding, we began collaborating with stream restoration initiatives. I served as a liaison between researchers and educators, on the Duck Creek Advisory group—first of several watershed partnerships that have since proliferated throughout Southeast. This feature article is a reflection on the lives of the ‘pros.’ Folks like my mentor the hydrologist Dan Bishop.
