Inaugural issue
Our very first Discoveries feature article was by artist-naturalist Kathy Hocker, in an 8-page newsletter formatted and edited by then-director Susan Goes. Kathy shared thoughts on what we take for signs of spring.
This digitally-salvaged issue also has a table I created for first song and first migratory arrival dates for land- and beach birds, averaged over the 12-year span when I lived at Eagle River delta.
