Snowslide cartography
When weather clears and risk-level drops, I’ve been trying to keep up with this winter’s avalanches by flying over the runouts.
Runout debris from 2 events in Nettleslide (Behrends path) on jan-02 and jan-21. Smooth-grey is deposit from dry avalanche; bumpy rubble from wet ones. Maintenance road on left. Stay off this road when the City’s Urban Avalanche Advisory cautions not to go beyond the Judy Lane gate! Yellow circle is red alder knocked over by windblast well beyond farthest extent of the jan-02 debris runout.
