Discovery naturalists Steve Merli, John Hudson and Richard Carstensen walked from end Mendenhall Peninsula Road to Industrial Boulevard with staff of Dzantik’i Héeni Middle School, spring, 2018. Discovery hikes are multi-scale, from landscape to micro-focus. One Lingít name for Mendenhall River is Wushi l’ux’u héen, milky water. I haven’t learned any names for The Flats.
